Last Jan 20, 2018, Board Trustee, Mirana Medina, GMEFI Staff Catherine Genovia and friends joined the Autism Society Philippines (ASP) and the 24,000 people from different NGOs, representatives from various government agencies, private and public schools, families and advocates of autism for this year’s “Angels Walk for Autism”.
By raising awareness on autism, the event hopes to gain general public’s acceptance, accommodation and appreciation of all Persons with Autism. The Angels Walk aims to call the attention of the society to help build an “Autism-OK Philippines.” It was celebrated nationwide.
Autism Philippines was the first recipient under GMEFI’s Community Educational Assistance Fund Program. The call for proposal is now on! Recognized organizations with projects for implementation that are educational in nature may submit their application to GMEFI’s office.
