Visit to POC-School for the Crippled Children

Last July 10, GMEFI President Evelyne Dominguez accompanied by Mr. Gil Reoma visited Sr. Leticia “Letty” Bartolome, ICM, at the POC-School for the Crippled Children in Quezon City. She was Pres. Dominguez’s Department Head at St. Teresa’s College. Sister Letty introduced her to Mrs. Maricris Duka, its principal.

GMEFI’s purpose was to see how GMEFI can be of help to the Institution, since GMEFI has been carving a niche in helping PWDs brave through their “disabilities” and develop their “different abilities” for them to live meaningfully and productively like any one of us, in a Caring Society that promotes Inclusive Education.

The need to help the “crippled children” was very obvious, and Even really wanted that GMEFI help the institution.

The politically incorrect term “crippled children” should be changed to “Differently-abled Children” as agreed upon by everybody including the Principal Ms. Duka.

They also visited Buhay Mapagmahal (BM) which is located inside the Phil Orthopedic Center compound.
