The first meeting between GMEFI staff Gil Reoma and Mirana Medina and the leaders of UP Special Education Council was finally held on February 9. Venue of the meeting was The Chocolate Kiss Cafe in Bahay Alumni located opposite the UP Film Center. UPSEC agreed to the offer of collaboration and partnership between them and GMEFI in support of the fund-raising benefit film screening of Medina’s educational documentary, PULE: Utak ng Rebolusyon. The plan is to hold it on August 25, 2017 at the UP Film Center in Diliman, Quezon City. The film highlights the talents of persons with special needs. Its music scorer is Thristan Mezndoza, a twice-exceptional person with autism while the Silent Steps, the all-Deaf playgroup of DLS-CSB School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies interpreted Mabini’s El Verdadero in Filipino Sign Language.

Salamat, Yna, sa write-up mo na ito. It may be a historical meeting since there is a possibility that the partnership between UPSEC and GMEFI will get stronger in the coming days. We will see them again on March 1.
