The Gawad Metronian Educational Foundation, Inc. [GMEFI] special board meeting was held from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. yesterday, April 29, Friday at the MMC Guest House Board Room in Novaliches, Quezon City. Following the grand launching of the Foundation last month, and while it awaits for the renewal of DSWD accreditation, yesterday’s agendum focused on GMEFI’s Fund Generation Campaign. Dr. Menandro Magculang, Funds Volunteer Head and AdHoc Committee Adviser led the discussion on funds generation. Several fund generating ideas were shared by the other members.
The GMEFI Board of Trustees and members later agreed to first undergo a Seminar on Basic Fund Campaign to be conducted on May 17 by Dr. Menandro Magculang solely for GMEFI members. Revitalization of the Metro Manila College Alumni Association was also deemed necessary since the alumni of both Novaliches Academy [1947-1976], later Metro-Manila College [1977-2016] could be of great help in the future fund campaigns GMEFI will undertake to support its scholars, and to sustain the Foundation’s activities. Fr. Romy Gallo, GMEFI Vice-President volunteered to help in reviving it.
Updates on GMEFI DSWD and PCNC status were earlier in the morning presented by Mr. Gil Reoma, Executive Director while Book keeper Mr. Lebi Tumang presented the financial report to the members of the board.
Later, Community Educational Program Head Mirana Medina asked the board whether the proposal for funds assistance be still accommodated for 2016 implementation despite the deadline expiration last month for submission of proposals. The body has agreed to accept late submissions.
The meeting, discussion and consensus-building was led by Dr. Evelyne Dominguez, GMEFI President. Nina Padua assisted in facilitating the meeting which ended with a closing prayer by Fr. Romy Gallo.
Other Board members present were Dr. Erlinda Dal’ag, Maria Aurora Villafuerte, Mrs. Natividad Villano, Loida Morante, and Assistant to the Secretary Lolit Javier.
