As expected Engr. Cesar Coronado, Team Chair, Mr. Gene Albert Velunta, Accountant, and Ms. Louie Gabasan, Philippine Council for NGO Certification Secretariat Representative came over to visit GMEFI last Friday, March 18 in the campus of Metro Manila College. Their activity started with the viewing of an audio-visual presentation that provided them information on the historical background and overview about the foundation. It gave them a glimpse of the Grand Launching event held last March 5, 2016 as well.
It was followed by an interview with Ms. Annalissa Penullar, Executive Director, and some officers and members of the Board. Also interviewed were some high school and college scholars being supported by the Foundation. Administrative Assistant Nina Padua was also interviewed. As a fledgling organization, we believe much of the requirements needed were met. If lacking, the evaluators will send GMEFI the list of other requirements which the organization must provide. Only upon the accomplishment of said requirements and their recommendations, will the PCNC Board deliberate whether the Foundation would be accredited or not.
A PCNC accreditation is equivalent to having an ISO certification, as such, their certification is deemed important. Transparency is topmost in their criteria. Continuity and sustenance of the foundation were also stressed.
The evaluator’s day ended with photos of the group taken in front of the historic Katipunan Tree, said to have been the place where Tandang Sora or Melchora Aquino treated the wounded Katipuneros. [MM]
